Bulk weight

Cost of consignments is calculated according to the bulk weight if the bulk weight exceeds actual weight.

Some consignments are lightweight though they are big. In this case the rate for transportation is calculated according to so called ‘bulk weight’ and not according to a physical weight. According to the ICAO metric standard bulk weight is calculated the following way:

for a box

Bulk weight (kg) = (length (cm) x width (cm) x height (cm)) / 6000

for a roll

Bulk weight (kg) = (square of a circle (cm2) x height (см)) / 6000 Square of a circle = пR2, R – radius of a circle (cm), п=3.14

Kilogram shares are approximated to a following half of a kilogram. After 10 kg – to a following kilogram.
